چکیده

This study investigated the effect of different dietary selenium (Se) sources on growth performance, antioxidant capacity, gut microbiota, and molecular responses Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. Four Se (sodium selenite, L-selenomethionine, yeast, or nanoparticles) were added to purified diets 0.4 mg Se/kg diet for ( 1.60 ± 0.14 g ). Each treatment was randomly assigned 3 replicated tanks 30 in each tank (500 L). After 8 weeks breeding, L-selenomethionine yeast significantly increased weight gain compared with sodium selenite treatment, while decreased hepatosomatic index other groups. The superoxide dismutase glutathione peroxidase activities hepatopancreas fed catalase activity malondialdehyde content composition β-diversity microbiota markedly changed group. abundances Rubrobacter Rubritalea, Winogradskyella Motilimonas, Photobacterium specially altered by nanoparticles, respectively. group showed lower complexity interspecies interactions. RNA-seq analysis that “arachidonic acid metabolism”-related genes enriched groups; “peroxisome” “drug metabolism–other enzymes”-related nanoparticle Vibrio, associated amino lipid metabolism. Pseudoalteromonas, Silicimonas, Roseovarius, Halomonas inhibited expression genes. These results suggested organic Se, especially selenomethionine, is an effective feed supplement promote maintain health utilization fatty a diet.

Effects of dietary mannan oligosaccharide on growth performance, gut morphology and stress tolerance of juvenile Pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei.

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary mannan oligosaccharide (MOS) on growth performance, gut morphology, and NH(3) stress tolerance of Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. Juvenile Pacific white shrimp (1080 individuals with initial weight of 2.52 ± 0.01 g) were fed either control diet without MOS or one of five dietary MOS (1.0, 2.0, 4.0, 6.0 and 8....

Microbiota from Litopenaeus vannamei: digestive tract microbial community of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)

Bacteria capable of producing different extracellular enzymes of potential relevance in digestive processes were isolated from the stomach, hepatopancreas and intestine of Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. A total of 64 strains with proteolytic activity were isolated and grouped into 16 clusters based on morphological characteristics: 4 groups were isolated from the intestine; 5 from t...

Effects of dietary astaxanthin on the immune response, resistance to white spot syndrome virus and transcription of antioxidant enzyme genes in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei

Three different experiments were conducted to study the effect of dietary astaxanthin on the immune response, resistance to white spot syndrome virus (WSSV) and transcription of antioxidant enzyme genes in Pacific white shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei. Each experiment included one triplicate treatment group (fed with 80 mg/kg astaxanthin supplemented diet) and one triplicate control group (fed with...

Composition, diversity and function of intestinal microbiota in pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) at different culture stages

Intestinal microbiota is an integral component of the host and plays important roles in host health. The pacific white shrimp is one of the most profitable aquaculture species commercialized in the world market with the largest production in shrimp consumption. Many studies revealed that the intestinal microbiota shifted significantly during host development in other aquaculture animals. In the...
